Angel shipped in hypo?

My preferred use of Methylene Blue is a bath.
To prepare this bath I use 1 teaspoon 2.303% solution per 5 gallons (double dose) in a bath of aquarium water from the tank the fish you wish to treat came from, I usually use about a ½ gallon of water, however you may use less.
Measurement of the Methylene Blue does not need to be precise as this bath should be used for about 30 minutes (although do not grossly overdose).

Checking in with the angel, we've slowly gotten the salinity up to 1.020. I'd like to accelerate this a bit. Hopefully by the end of the day we can get it up to 1.022. I'd like to possibly start treating one of two things ASAP, but I'm not sure which would be the best to address first and at what salinity it will be "safe" to start.

First, the angel is still not eating with any gusto. The only thing we've seen it pick at with any conviction is fresh clams. I suspect it may have either gill damage or a bacterial infection, as even with keeping very clean water it's gill area is still red.

The second issue, I suspect it *may* have flukes. Tried a fw dip to confirm, but abandoned after about a minute and a half because the gills were becoming even more red and irritated as we watched and I was worried about causing more damage. I did see what I thought "might" have been a fluke come off into the water, but it was still very early into the dip.
Besides not eating much (which is common with regals anyway)the angel has been shaking it's head a bit, but no other definite symptoms.

What do you think?

All of this sounds quite similar to the regal I've been dealing with (https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/white-thing-over-regal-angel-fin.296562/ , I know you've seen the thread but not sure if you've kept up with it). Mine has the redness still but it's gone down (I think). I can induce that head shaking if I get real close to the tank, he doesn't like me much and doesn't do it if I lurk behind the wall. The only major difference is that mine is eating and eating well. I'm still partially undecided if the redness was from water conditions or infection so I'm just taking care of both and things seem to be progressing.

Yes, I've been watching your thread!Unfortunately, I had to deal with unexpected hypo situation first :( hopefully once the salinity gets up to normal it might start eating a little better.

@ngoodermuth Just to confirm, you already did the MB bath correct?

If so, I would move on to antibiotic treatment. It is safe to do @ 1.020. Start with either Kanaplex or Furan-2, and if the redness doesn't clear after a few days combine both medications. You can also add Seachem Metroplex to the mix to widen the spectrum of treatment even further.

When possible, it would be great to do a full 5 min FW dip to confirm or rule out the presence of gill flukes: https://www.reef2reef.com/ams/video-how-to-do-a-freshwater-dip.214/

Yes, I already did the MB bath before he hit the QT. I'll start with antibiotics today and see if that helps. Thanks!

Well, the angel passed last night. I tried [emoji20]
