Angelfish dead, bloated clownfish

#reefsquad Came down this morning and my rusty angelfish was dead. She seemed perfectly fine in the past few days. I did a water change last night. The only thing I can possibly see that's out of place is one of the clownfish looks a little bloated, and one of my nassarius snails is sitting on top of my corals and not really moving. The water looks fine, the nitrates are between 5-10 ppm. Could it have been an ammonia spike? I don't have an ammonia test kit

I've had that angelfish, and the others, for over a year. I added two new emerald crabs a few days ago. Th KH and Phosphate are fine, nothing unusual or troubling

That does seem like the most plausible explanation. If so, what can I do? When I fed the clowns tonight the bloated one chased the food but didn't eat.

Also, would anyone know what disease this might be? I'm anxious to treat it to avoid more fatalities. Thanks guys.

Just a few things that usually cause rapid death. Velvet and or gram negative bacterial infections are the usual culprits. Here's a thread with pictures, descriptions and treatments:

Have you tested water for ammonia? If nitrate is high which it is, ammonia likely high also.
What is your salinity?
What is tank temperature and PH ?
What test kit(s) are you using ?
