So I really wanted a Koran Angel but I see most angelfish are not reef safe .

suggestions for something that size and equally Nice colouring for a LPS minor SPS tank

Unfortunately no.

Lamarck's angel, Bellus angel, Wanatanbei angel and Spotbreast angel are the only ones that work well in a reef tank, that get larger that I'm aware of.

Dwarf such as Flame or potters , even coral beauty will be best bet.

Tank size?

Most large angels will be ok in a SPS tank .... as long as you don’t freak out over a nip here and there. LPS is more problematic, particularly the large poly meaty corals. I have an emperor, asfur, regal, rock beauty, flame pair, potters and lemonpeel in my 450. They ate all my zoas and open brain corals .... but leave everything alone .... mostly. Every now and then the lemonpeel decides a colony is delicious and ravages it. Then loses interest and it grows back.

i have a coral beauty angelfish and a swallowtail angelfish the coral beauty killed 1 of my brain corals but leaves everything else alone the swallowtail is totally reef safe doesn't bother corals or clams

You can also do a fish tank with limited corals...ie many corals taste bad and are ok with quite a few types of angels. Flame, coral beauty, beallus, regal, goldflake are all ones that will often (not always) but often be ok with euphilia, leathers, gsp, and quite a few others. Two things 2 remember...a hungry fish will taste test everything and much of the angel coral bad rap comes from the large angels like queen, scibbed, and french etc. I will admit with the small to medium angels sometimes its a coin toss. But even when you loose the coin toss most angels don't eat all types of coral.

There are some beautiful tangs that are large, showpiece fish and appropriate for a reef tank

Tangs have 3 issues
1) They get disease so much easier in most cases
2) Many of them can get extreemly agressive twoard each other
3) Tangs can eat corals too...I have seen several large Dory that one day started eating corals...yes I said it some large tangs one day just start eating corals! But admit its rarer than with angels.

Impossible. Cant be done.

my regal has gone rogue after being a good gal for over 1year! Still cant bring myself to remove her

The tang aggression is a big one for me .
But it’s definitely something I’d be into . I wish I could find more juvi like my blue (about 2-3”)
I never had a ton of trouble with my tangs years ago but I had a lunar wrasse that killed everything - including a just transitioned to adulthood emperor angel

ooh, how about a large wrasse? I can’t say I recommend the lunar but there are some stunning large wrasses

I had a majestic angel in my 180 reef for years. Model reef citizen. Then one day, it decided it liked my LPS’s for dinner, so it had to go. Majestic has one of the better track records for reef compatibility. It has been my experience, that once they get older, their tastes change. I would consider getting another one, but I now have a clam, and most angels will nip at a clam mantle, so it’s either the clam or the angels. For now, the clam wins. Picture is from several years ago. Not the best....
