Angelfish with clams?

I want to add a pair of shallowtail angelfish to my reef but have a clam. Are shallowtail angelfish clam safe?

Personally, I wouldn’t trust any Marine Angels (dwarf or large) with Tridacna clams or fleshy LPS corals. I’ve seen both go after clam mantles with gusto (in fact small clams are often used to get finicky angels feeding).

Normally you end up having to decide whether you’d rather keep your clam or your angel.

Genicanthus angels are normally safe with clams and corals since they are open water swimmers unlike most other angels.

Really depends on what type of angelfish. Swallowtail angelfish is the 100% reef safe angelfish

I think it was @copps that has an emperor and a few regals with his clams. I don’t know, maybe he’s got more.

Yup and I know. And I know She may even get hungry for some clam some day. But my favorite fish by far is the regal and wanted a clam so did roll the dice!
