Hi I got this flame angel 2/24/19 and it appears that he has developed fin rot. I started running copper on 3/1/19. He was eating lots until tonight, where I did not see him eat at all. I did not notice the fin rot until today, he seemed fine before today. Here is an album of pictures: https://imgur.com/a/6P5fdan sorry for the crappy pics but it was the best I could do. How do I treat this and any other recommendations? What is the survival rate like? Thanks!

Looks like your beautiful flame angel has a nasty bacterial infection. Often when the fish's immune system is depressed by copper, a secondary infection results and hits rather suddenly. These things can go sideways real fast. I'd remove the copper ASAP and then treat the fish with antibiotics to help it's immune system to recover. But again this has to happen quickly. Do you have any antibiotics on hand? Furan2, Kanaplex, Triple sulfa, NFG powder?

I agree^ You could try dosing the antibiotics with copper and see if he improves. I've done the same with the trifecta kanaplex+metroplex+furan-2. But, if he doesn't seem to be responding you may need to remove the copper as mentioned above.

I'd also highly recommend a 90-minute bath in a product containing acriflavine (ruby reef rally, API fungus cure) as this can be very effective at stalling the infection until the antibiotics have a chance to get working. Antibiotics can be slow-acting in fish.

Thanks for the help. Unfortunately he died overnight :(

I’m sorry for your loss :(

Oh, man. So sorry for your loss. Beautiful fish. Dwarf angels, especially Flame Angels seem to be very sensitive to copper treatments. :(
