been searching like crazy for a white version of the angler/frogfish. I know it's a color variant but they have got to be around online somewhere from a credible vendor- any of you know of a good general starting point for buying one in that color phase online? I think I've found about every color but the white... Are they more rare or more sought after or something?

I would try live aquaria and divers den. Being an international reefer I've never bought from either, but I occasionally use LA as a starting point to research certain fish. They have a really good reputation and they seem to always have cool stuff in stock!
Do you mean a Wartskin angler? Or a pure white one?

Pure white one. And thank you, wonder if I just called them they could keep a look out for me....

No worries :) I believe they have an emailing system where they'll email you when a specific fish you want is in stock. I don't know if it's as detailed as colour variants though.

Just so you know, most anglers can and do change colors. You'll have to keep the tank white if you want to try to keep it white-ish.

More I read about them the more im coming to understand that, but does that go for all the species of them?

I think it does for most and the ability to change color has different degrees. Some may just get lighter or darker and others can actually become completely different colors. I had an A. pictus which was a nice dark black when I got him, but after a hair algae invasion, he changed to an army green.

Not sure if you have seen this site yet, if not it will be your new best friend in terms of anglerfish. It has great info on different color morphs of almost all of the frogfish species.

That's an awesome page thank you and for the info too!
