Anirban's Aquaforest journey

Steady is good. :)
Yes, I am in a quite good position to test my new add on light from Orphek. I designed two of them with Orphek and they are now on their way to me. Hope to get them next week.:D

It is pretty cool they let you customize your own light.
Oh yeah, absolutely. Actually I want to see Orphek lights with my own eyes. I am planning a big build for future and want to see Orphek as my LED light source with ATI T5s. Till now Orphek earned my respect about ordering and customer support. I will decide rest once I get those bars.

I'm curious what color spectrum you went with? I put a daylight on my frag tank, great light, but more more yellow than I like. If I did custom, I'd like them to try and match their atlantik at full power, that's a much whiter/cooler color than the daylight bar.

I went with blue/UV as my tank runs 6500K T5 bulbs and 12000K spectrum in total. I modified the UV bar as I dont like too blue or violet color. This is my diode distribution-

Hello, I finally stopped in and your sps success is astounding, not to mention building your own tank, Very impressive.

Small update...
Installed the OR custom light bars last week. It does added a lot of oomph to the tank. The build quality is solid on these.
Today after possibly couple of months or more I checked all my parameters just out of curiosity.
The results are as follows

Alk- dkH 8.0 (Hanna)
Ca-430 (AF)
Mg-1230 (AF)
Potassium-370 ppm (Salifert)
PO4- 0.04 (Hanna)
NO3- 0 ppm (Red sea)

So, every thing is perfectly under control and look well balanced. I am surprised to see my nutrients so low as I feed 2 times my homemade frozen mixture and once pellet. But who cares if everything is going well and everyone looks happy. Looks like I reached to a stage when my tank and AF dosing schedule is taking care of everything.

Glad to see things are going well.

I think some people get so wrapped up in numbers even if their tank is doing well. Paying attention to what things look like, like you are doing is the best way when looking at nutrient numbers.

Thanks man.

Over the years I have seen people get too busy with numbers. "Numbers don't transform into healthy reefs."
Keep it simple, enjoy the hobby and let your reef and fishes talk to you. If your corals and fishes are healthy they will let you know and when they are not they will let you know that too. Understand their language, watch them, enjoy your time with them. If your hobby makes you tense then this is not the right hobby for you.

Update time....long due. But nothing special happened except they are growing.....lol.
Currently at 120 ml of each AF components and if these people grows like this I will soon look for calcium reactor...o_Oo_Oo_Oo_O;Dead

Lets start with a FTS..
