Anirban's Aquaforest journey

I also made my yearly fish food. I generally buy a lot of frozen and dry food and mix them. I also add different coral foods and vitamins in it. Then make small packets of it and freeze. Warning: feeding this twice a day to your tank can cause high nutrient flux in the system and you need to have a super efficient nutrient transport method.

Take a look at this yummy food..

Thanks man,
Yeah that food drives my tank and keep everyone happy in the tank including my corals. I changed my job recently so was bit busy shifting offices and settling down in the new place. But I was on schedule with my weekly water changes and my AF dosing took care of the rest. I just love this automode of AF dosing and maintenance....but only issue is that the tank is drinking AF components like anything (120ml per day in a 55G system but that possibly due to my galore of growing sticks) :p
The tank is doing great and I can say my sticks are growing fast. With this speed I may need to find a bigger home for them very soon.
I will take a FTS and individual shots tomorrow and post them tomorrow evening...so stay tuned.

Now time for some coral picture...

Update time...
Finally took some picture. Not that good but you people can see how the system is doing.

Lets start with the FTS

I love the depth you have created. It looks like your tank almost wants to reach out and give you a hug. Corals look very nice too of course.

Thank you, its a almost square tank so it creates that depth. My dream is to get a 500 G system with square peninsula type with less height so that I can see everything from top down view.

But my fishes give me hug every time I feed them. They eat from my hand directly.

I've tried Aquaforest several times with what I consider no luck - not knocking the product but I seem to have a brownish slime on the back of the tank and under the rim all the way around the tank and my power heads as well. It goes away when I stop using the AF products. I used products 1-2-3 and could not get to the point of the other coral foods, etc. No clue why.

Actually I was seeking help from someone that has been so successful using this product.
Sorry... ;Sorry
I took your post the wrong way and having mine withdrawn.

Whats up? I am there and actually we are there. Somehow I stopped getting notice of my own thread. The brown thing comes with imbalaced nutrients not from components. I will need to know what goes in the tank and how you export nutrients.

No bother and I won't be back to this forum.
I don't know what happened here. But looks like you are bit offended by Freddie. Hope you find the forum more helpful and being local to me you can always get i touch with me.:)

Long time no updates.... so update time today.
Few things happened in between. The tank is doing good. I have an interesting new fish.
Couple of weeks back one of my anthias suddenly showed red bacterial skin infection. I dont have an quarantine and by chance my Kanaplex and Furan 2 was out of date. So, I ordered them immediately and started treating the tank with melafix and primafix. I used these earlier too. After 72 hours I received the antibiotics. But interestingly by that time the red inflammation was almost gone but I still added kanaplex, Furan 2 and metroplex with Focus in the food for next 7 days. The guy is fit as a squirrel now and back in the gang. The tank is currently seeing a blast in coralline algae the whole bottom is purple now.

Current tank parameters:
Alk: 8.1 dkH
Ca:430pp
Mg- 1340ppm
NO3-3ppm
PO4- 0.02ppm
K-420
