PS AUTO CORRECT IN TITTLE AMMONIA**

Large water changes and prime or similar?
How old is the tank?
Can you put the fish in another tank (like a quarantine tank) for now till you fix it?

3 year old tank , and now I can't but I wasn't sure if I can add Prime directly into the tank so I added only one drop to be safe ... 29 gallon tank ... I had to go to work and I'm afraid when I come back everything will be dead

Seachem says you can add it directly to the tank in an emergency. 2.5ml per 100 liters.

I would change as much water as possible, and keep doing so until you get the ammonia gone.

Any idea what happened that your ammonia spiked?

I have no idea why it did but I think because my bio wheel wasn't getting water flow into it - when the water gets just a little low it stops spinning .... I can't wait to upgrade to my 90G With a Sump and Overflow... Just haven't had the time to start cycling it ...

But thank you so much for the reply I will add some prime when I get back and try to get water changes in

Sounds like now is a great excuse to start it cycling....using some of the water you are pulling out on the water changes to get your ammonia down. You may end up with a full cycle on your current tank as well :(

You are welcome.....I hope it works out for you and you don't suffer any more losses. Let us know how you make out

After a single water change my ammonia went back to 0 the same night, next day the rest of the fish passed away, now days later monitoring the tank with perfect parameters , even my LFS tested my water for close measures, my peppermint shrimp now passed away and corals are still closed...

But it is back down now? I'd just watch the corals for a bit and see if they perk up before adding anything like a fish.

Did you add Prime?

I added just a drop of prime and a water change and it did the job right away... If corals don't survive ... Good bye tank...
