annoyed with sps colors

i would NOT dose po4. we really have enough due to feeding alone.
however i have witnessed nuisance algae "go away" when aligned to redfield ratio and many others on youtube have documented the same successes.

i would manually remove the nuisance algae and get nitrate to approximately 3ppm.
understood ty for your help

Russ please explain the difference between compounds and nutrients :-)
I bet we come up with the same explanation

i hate these tests lol. and i dont want to confuse anyone.

compounds to me are what i dose specifically. no3, po4.

nutrients is just stuff to feed the tank rich in carbon that breaks down in to those compounds.

so if nutrients turn into "compounds" there is no difference in the long run. which is what I figured he meant anyways.

well............

you cant control how nutrients break down. you can control compounds introduced. know what i mean?

like nutrients rich in iron and such. it really gets dicey

I knew you would think like I do!
People don't understand stuff like this.
Also I think if people were to understand this there would be much happier reef keepers

Po4 and no3 is a compound. Its chemistry
Now nutrients in our hobby is more organic and inorganic nutrients
What your skimmer pulls out is the stuff that will brown acros if you know what I mean.
I have a 85g or so total volume tank running a helix 5000 skimmer at 6000Ml of air.
This is how I control the unwanted "nutrients organic or inorganic" from turning my corals brown.
Now the color of coral is dependant on the zooxanthellae algae in the coral.
You want color than provide it with the proper amount of no3 and po4 with minimal "nutrients"
It will shade itself from the UV of the lighting which what we see are the awesome colors.

I intend to, thank you for your help.
