Annoying algae

I’ve been doing water changes like crazy to try and stop this outbreak but nothing is working.

It’s about 4 months old and it’s live rock.

Probably a photosynthetic algae bloom as the live rock is adjusting to your particular tank. What's your lighting setup?

I currently have the current Marine orbit and switching to AI Prime HD tomorrow

It will be interesting to see what kind of changes the superior AI spectrums have on your tank vs. the Marine Orbit.

It’s funny you ask this.. so I just ran across another LFS this past weekend.. they had RO/DI water and have 0 TDS.. however they told me the other place I went had TDS in their RO/DI water that I’d been using.

What kind of pump do you have? A single MP40 or Gyre should be fine and will work for random flow. Rossmont makes a nice set up too.

I am not familiar with that pump, but a second one might not be a bad idea.

im not sure what size tank you have, but im fairly confident that your fluval isn't enough. I would also stay away from fluval products IMO. Not good quality in my experience.

My LFS told me I shouldn’t have done the current Marine.. said would promote algae.. they might be right.. lol
