Yeah I figured it was just another phase of the ugly stage, first time (after many tank set ups and many years doing this) having ugly algae like this.Pineapple sponges are typical for a newer tank set up.
Hair algae, diatoms, Dinoflagellates and other stuff is all part of the first year uglies.

Not enough. Got rid of most after they had no food to eat and were just killing each otherHow many snails/hermits do you have now?
That was my big fear. Hoping it’s notit looks like bryopsis algae, that's some pretty tough stuff. maybe someone with more expertise fighting it will chime in to confirm.
I’ll give it another week then. And hopefully go grab more cleanup crew soooonWhen I did the flucanozole thing (same thing as reef flux) it took me three weeks, not the recommended two weeks. I saw the most results in the last week.
I also added an extra dozen assorted hermits and couple of extra turbos to clean up the mess.
That is my plan for tomorrow.Don’t be afraid to get in there with a toothbrush or something and help as well.
Thanks for the reefcleaners link, just ordered some diotoms busters...Pineapple sponges are typical for a newer tank set up.
