Annoying intermittent waterfall sound from return pipe in overflow

I have a 210 gallon DT with Aqueon overflows. Sometimes, after I've turned off my equipment for feeding and then turned on the equipment again, I can hear an annoying micro-waterfall sound coming from the return pipe in the overflow. OK, for the sake of clarity, a better description of the sound is probably a guy peeing into a toilet. I looked at both the overflows to diagnose the problem. Since the sound is only coming from one of the overflows, it was pretty easy to determine that the sound is caused by a small stream of water that is shooting out of an anti-siphon hole in one of the return pipes. What's odd to me is that this sound only happens on occasion (maybe once a week for a couple hours) and it only seems to happen on one of my overflows.

Can someone explain why this small stream of water shoots out of only one of the anti-siphon holes on an intermittent basis? (E.g., from a physics perspective.)

And more importantly, can someone instruct me on how to fix it so that the sound goes away?

I believe what you are talking about same as what I had with a marineland tank if you cut a piece of foam pad I place in overflow I front of that hole you can fix that problem or it will quiten it

I do have a 93 Marineland tank and did exactly this with a zip tie.

Thanks for your replies, everyone. I figured it out. Feeling like a moron right now. All I had to do was adjust the water level in the overflow.
