Annularis Angel with cloudy eyes

Even happier Saturday....the Annularis is out swimming and chasing the Dr G's when I fed this AM. Left eye is almost clear, his right eye looks the same, but he's obviously feeling better. Thanks again for the great advice.

Antibiotics are in the tank, skimmer and carbon are back off (water looked nice and crystal clear prior to adding the antibiotics and air stones)

Here's a couple of updated pics. Right eye looks much better it's the front that looks bad almost like an ulcer. He can see out of it and is swimming much better tonight.

So just to recap... You still need to administer the second round of Prazipro (for flukes) and are also treating with erythromycin? Correct??

Yes, will do the second round of Prazipro after this round of antibiotics. I can dose at the same time again , but thought I was supposed to wait a week before redosing the Parazi.

Yes, wait 5-7 days in-between rounds of prazi. And try to space out the antibiotic dosage so it doesn't occur on the same day you are needing to redose Prazipro.

I put the next dose of Antibiotics in today and will put the Prazipro in tomorrow evening after work or Thurs AM, depending on when I have more time to watch them. I had a 1.5 hour power outage last night and everyone made it just fine (TY battery backups and battery air bubblers). Eye is looking better but still has the white spot, but has cleared and swelling is down. I've been taking pictures daily and will post some progression photos in a few days. Annularis does love the Dr. G's, feeding it 2x a day. Then they get their regular mix 30 min after I feed the 2nd round of Dr. G's in the evening.

2nd round of Prazipro is in I will skip adding antibiotics to the tank tomorrow and add them on Saturday. He's still eating the Dr G's like candy, eye is about 50-60% improved, MUCH less swelling but still cloudy with the one bad spot. Photo's are progression on the bad eye over the last 5 days....still has a ways to go, but much improved. Starting on 1/27 through last night 1/31 (in order)

TY, appreciate all the help. I bought some Focus to bind some antibiotics to food now that he's eating other stuff (and some garlic). I was really worried he was going to be blind in that eye, but I know for sure he can see out of it and that big red spot that looked painful is gone. I will have to go beyond 10 days of antibiotics for sure, but whatever it takes.

Another round of antibiotics are in, I'm about 3/4 of the way through the Dr. G's as well. They are getting a capful or two twice a day. The spot on his eye that was looking horrible is about 75% gone. Pictures are from Feb 1st -3rd.

Tomorrow I'm going to do another 50-60 gallon water change turn the skimmer and carbon reactor on for 12 hours to clear any Prazipro and then add fresh antibiotics. If I read everything correctly I shouldn't have to dose Prazipro again (correct me if I'm wrong please)

2x doses of Prazipro, 5-7 days apart is usually sufficient to clear flukes.

If flukes remain on a fish following the second round of prazi, I consider them to be "prazi resistant", and treat using either Hyposalinity or formalin baths.

I did the water change yesterday, ran the skimmer till the waste collector filled and then turned on the carbon reactor. Last night I added another round of antibiotics. His eye is looking better every day, but still "foggy" where the one big white spot was.

@bryanr Good job! But remember some infections can be stubborn, so you may need to treat longer than 10-14 days.

@Humblefish Thank you for the guidance and Yes, understood. As bad of an infection as this was I bought medication for 4 more doses. I will treat again Friday evening, plan for another water change after that and probably retreat at least once more after that. I also ordered more Dr. G's to feed once a day after it looks healed.
