Another “ID, please”!

I can’t figure this one out. It’s been there for months, and hasn’t grown. It's about 1 cm tall, and if it's some type of vermetid, I've never seen any type of worm come out of it.

That’s the ultra-rare Neomeris, a calcified, green macroalgae. Usually, it dies in captivity (disintegrates into sand), but when conditions are right, it can become invasive. It is also otherwise known as Caterpillar weed and Finger algae, but I like to call it Alien fingers. I wish you could give me some, but you live in Canada, and I live in the states ;Inpain.

I just poked it, and it's firm, but not stiff. It must be some type of alga, but that lime green colour...

Wow, thanks! That rock was clean of everything but aiptasia and majanos when I bought it in January, but it's spourted all sorts of weird flora in the past four months. I see that I've got a few more specimens right at the top of the tank, where they're a darker green-and-burgundy colour.

Neomeris annulata and agreed a macro-algae. The little tubes are not vermetid but rather tube worms which emit a fan when hungry to capture food.

And yes, everyone, I know that i have a nice crop of majanos just chillin' at the top of the live rock. Vendor: "look at these 'nems! Aren't they pretty? They're all over the place!"

The silver lining: you can only see them now because the nudibranchs have now eaten off their aiptasia camouflage.
