Wow, thanks! That rock was clean of everything but aiptasia and majanos when I bought it in January, but it's spourted all sorts of weird flora in the past four months. I see that I've got a few more specimens right at the top of the tank, where they're a darker green-and-burgundy colour.That’s the ultra-rare Neomeris, a calcified, green macroalgae. Usually, it dies in captivity (disintegrates into sand), but when conditions are right, it can become invasive. It is also otherwise known as Caterpillar weed and Finger algae, but I like to call it Alien fingers. I wish you could give me some, but you live in Canada, and I live in the states ;Inpain.
