I know there have been a ton of questions like this so I apologize up front. I'm setting up a 40 breeder now. I have a 2 ft, 4 bulb T5 fixture I'll be using for the moment but long-term I'm not sure it'll have the best coverage. I'd ultimately love to go LED to get away from bulb changes.
I'm high on the AI Hydra lights right now. I've considered Kessil but like the options on an AI. Radions are too expensive for me. I'm unsure of some of the cheaper options. This will be a mostly LPS tank.
So I'm thinking three options:
1. A single AI Hydra 52. Middle level cost. Simple single light set up which I like. Will it have enough coverage?
2. Two AI Primes. Lowest cost. Might be enough light but I'm worried it won't be. What do you think?
3. Two AI Hydra 26s. Highest cost. No concern that it will cover fine or provide enough light. At the high cost though, it might be overkill.
In the future I might also consider adding in an Aquatic Life T5 hybrid future to work with any of these options. In the meantime, what do you think would be the best option?
Thanks!
