Hi folks! I've been up and running in the salt world for about 2 months now (fully cycled, alkalinity 8.7dkh, 490 calcium, 1.025, o ammonia nitrite and about 0-5ppm nitrate, phosphate somewhere between .1-.2 per Salifert. Have the standard diatoms in the gravel as it works it's way through the silicates but I came home to this green algae over the rocks. The astraea snails don't seem to munch on it, if at all, or they can't keep up, and it doesn't seem height specific as it is fairly uniform. Any ideas?

Thanks

Coralline algae starts out green like that. Try and dust it off. If it doesn't come off easy it's coralline and will change to pink eventually

I tried to scrape it off with my finger and no luck, so hopefully it truly is coralline!

This morning I noticed some of the green was on the sand bed. Again, not hairy, not slimey to the touch, and i tried to brush it off the rocks with a tooth brush to little success. I even noticed the astraea snail shells had the green on it. I assume that is still a good thing? Thank you again for your advice!
