Ok and another question if my tank is consuming more alk then calcium. Is it possible that I can continue to just dose alk. Or will dosing alk cause my mag and cal to change. They seem stable now. I am sorry if I don't really understand. I know that the mag is supposed to keep alk and cal balanced. I have less coral then my last tank and I never had to dose. Only thing I can figure is coraline using the alk. It was getting out of control until I got a urchin
I would say depending on what is in the tank, if you have prize sps colonies then I would do no more .5 to 1 a day . other hardier corals and fish you could get away with raising it 1 in the morning , 1 in the evening . just watch your tank . it will show you when its unhappy. Going slower is always better.
