Hello. So, I have been running into issues trying to stabilize Alk and CA in my tank got quite a while. I upgraded from a JBJ 45 to a Reefer 250. I used dry aragonite special grade sand and live rock from my old set up + maybe another 10 lbs of dry rock. Didn’t see a cycle due to the transfer. I am dosing. B-Ionic 2 part 90.7 ML a day. Comes out to be about 3.13 dkh a day. Every week I am adjusting my dosing (increase). For the last couple of weeks my adjustments have became smaller and smaller. Last week after a WC (9/29) I was at 8.4 dkh and 420 ppm cal. This week (10/4) before a WC I am at 8.0 dkh and 420 ppm cal for a -.4 dkh over 5 days. I increased my dosing to make up the difference which is now currently at 90.7 ML (3.13 dkh) for Alk and Cal. I don’t see any precipitation. Cal has been steady at 420 ppm. Only change is Alk.

- PH: low of 8.1 and high of 8.26.
- Mag: 1350-1360
- Cal: 420
- Alk: 8.4
- Temp: 78-79
- NO3: 5 ppm
- PO4: undetectable

Mostly SPS and a few LPS. Corals are growing fast and encrusting fast. Great polyp extension and color.

in order to again determine the correct consumption for my tank I turned off my doser to see how much dkh would drop in a 24 hr time period.

So, Monday (10/7) I tested at 8 dkh, 24 hrs later (10/8) I am testing at 6.2 for a -1.8 dkh lost or consumption. So, at this point would I turn the doser back on and adjust to 1.8 dkh or leave it off for a day or two?

dosing line is placed at the drain side of my sump before my filter socks.
