Hey reefers
Just thought id share my simple ato its obviously a temporary device but it serves its purpose extremely well and for little to no cost its perfect if your evaporation rate is slow. My main ato that i am building atm follows the same method but incorporates a 10ltr clear plastic bottle and ridged piping
Of course im not suggesting that this idea be used on your $10,000 mack daddy reef but for all the newbies and nano's i think there should be no reason to blow a couple of hundred on a pro ato. Basically all i done was take a 1 ltr bottle and attached a long enough peice of ridged airline to the spout so that once mounted it would sit about 25mm below surface, next i carefully cut hole in bottle for my de-pressurizing (excuse my grammer lol) air line to go through making sure it fit tight enough that it wouldn't leak. This peice of hose needs to go right to bottom of bottle. Finally i very ruggedly taped a device i made out of some wire to side of bottle for mounting hardware. Thats about it and for me it uses about 500ml of water a day so i know that my sg levels are going to remain stable while im away for the weekend or likewise.
