Another cloudy Kalk thread

hey guys picture provided. Mixed this up last night. This is what it is looking like tonight. Won’t clear up, I do have stuff on the bottom. Seems like this has been asked a lot but from what I’ve read can’t find any direct answers here.

What ratio of kalk to water did you use? The max 1 gallon of water can absorb of kalk is two teaspoons.

I used a little over 1/2 teaspoon per gallon.

Give it a few more hours and it will clear. even if you put more in than it can hold in suspension the rest will settle out and cover the bottom of your container.

Ok I will give it till tonight and see what it looks like.

Doesn’t it make a difference if you say add a few teaspoons to a gallon of water and then add 3 more gallons to the mixture?

Ok after letting it sit all day. Only like a 1/4 inch of the top of the water is clear.

I have made kalkwrasser solution before. I have an Avast Marine stirrer. I used more than a cup of powder. At first the solution looked like your picture. After a day the top half was clear and the bottom had a lot settle out. Maybe try using more.

Because I stir my kalk in a 5 gallon DIY tank I actually have the kalk moisture milky white. It is added with a dosing pump and controlled by pH.
