So this one was found in my sand near, but not on any rock. Very easy catch, it was night already and a quick scoop of the net and caught. Rock, is close to almost 2 years old now, from Florida. Any thoughts on ID? I’ve already sumped him but he’s got some unique coloration and no black tips on the claws but reminds me of a gorilla crab

My initial thought was a discolored lissocarcinus laevis but those are pacific ocean crabs and almost always a bright almost super red color. Plus the body shape and claws don't match up. However consider me interested.

Thanks! I figured it was gorilla or similar that’s why I automatically sumped him
I have those exact same ones in my tank. I’ve taken one out and I have a teeny tiny one that has yet to venture off far from a crevice in the rockscape. Once he does I’m sniping him outta there.
I wish I had a sumo to put them in. The coloration on these are great.
