I suspect chloramines. But I think if those are getting past your carbon prefilter, they would destroy your RO membrane.
I easily get a year out of my DI and I make about 600 or so gallons a year.
My tap water tds is 20. My water has chloramines. I installed a big blue canister with carbon before my RO. It's so awesome.
Did you test for free chlorine and total chlorine of your tap water and RO water?
I also only use spectrapure filters
