So I’ve searched and nothing personal but the search on this site seems to really suck when using a phone…idk.

Anyway, I’m looking at getting Kamoer dosing pumps (can’t afford the DOS system yet). I’m having trouble finding the difference between the Bluetooth pumps and the wifi pumps. It seems both can use the app, so what exactly is the difference? Can one only be changed if within Bluetooth range or can both be monitored from a distance?

Sorry a bit technologically stupid when it comes to these

Yes, the BT version can only be used when in range.

The Bluetooth will only work when in range, the WiFi should work even when away from home although I have no experience with these pumps. I would look at the reviews though, many people seem to have connection issues.

I appreciate the feedback. Was there a website with the differences posted? Looks like probably the wifi would be preferred for away from home monitoring. Is there any cheaper models that readily connect to the Apex like the dos?

Edit to add around the same price as Kamoer

The kamoer x1 dosing pumps are one of the best pumps you can find for the price IMO. I used them before switching to a dos and other than not being able to control them from far away (obviously I just had the Bluetooth models) they were great.

You would need to remote log into your home network to access them while away from home.

Another draw back that I read, which is why I didn’t go here was if you lose power they need to be reprogrammed

I heard that as well, at least for the Bluetooth ones
That’s why I decided to get the Red Sea reefdos2... basically same costs. By the time you get 2 kamoers it’s not much difference cost wise... but the kamoers have some highly rated reviews... but so does the reefdos

The Bluetooth looses it's clock time, the program is retained. The Wi-Fi retains both.

I have ran 4 Kamoer Bluetooth dosing pumps for 6 months now and the all work great. Would buy again in a heartbeat. I do log into then if power goes out to ensure clock is right but even if you do not they keep the schedule and would still dose right amount just at different time.
