Hello fellow reefers,

Only 5 months into the hobby with my 15g tank. The kids wanted a ‘Dory’ which I know is not suitable for this size tank but the lfs recommended a yellow tail damsel as something similar that we bought that I have now found out
A: it’s recommended for a minimum 30g tank
B: it’s aggressive and has already taken a cave as it’s territory
The kids are wanting to get one more fish and here is my dilemma, is there another fish we can add? Or do we need to re-home the fish to a bigger tank (which my kids love) ? Or can we keep the fish on it’s own in this tank?

Thanks in advance

Dom

The easy part first: I think he’s fine alone (as in he needs no ‘company’, if that was your concern). I think your kids would absolutely love a Coral Banded Shrimp— you could sell it to them as ‘we have a fish, AND we have a shrimp!’ Psychology (lol).
