Thanks to the feedback here, I purchased a second powerhead to ensure there was no surface tension and adequate flow. I’ve been playing with the placement as to not totally disrupt the sand and think I have it figured out now. However, this one coral (colt coral?) is not extending nearly as much as it was before the second powerhead. Do you think it needs to be moved to a lower flow area?

That looks like a kenya tree leather, and they are happy just about anywhere. They take a couple of days to acclimate to change though, how long has it been in the new spot?

The only time my Kenya tree was unhappy was in a dead spot in the tank. If there is some movement, it was happy.

Mine too. The shed branches easily survived trips through my DART and the stuff ended up pretty much everywhere.

Yes, you're right. Its a kenya tree. I figured that out over the weekend lol. Its only been about 24 hours with the new flow and I performed a water change during that time period. I'll just give it more time to acclimate to the new flow.

I heard they spread like weeds. It's so nice to have things that grow quick in a new tank but I can see how it can become a pain long term when you are trying to add nicer coral to a then established tank.

Thanks for the replies!
