I'm currently in the planning stage for an IM 150 Lagoon (48x36x21'), which will be a direct upgrade to my 75 gallon mixed reef. I have always loved garden eels since seeing them at the Georgia aquarium. I have done my research on these guys OFC, but I want to see if anyone currently has these in a mixed reef? I have seen videos and threads of them surviving long-term in these reefs. I would dedicate a back corner of the tank to them, with a 4-8' deep sandbed and a gyre on the opposite side to bring them food. I already feed heavy and often so that most likely won't be an issue. I also don't particularly love large rambunctious fish, my largest is a scopas and a red coris wrasse and I would like it to stay that way when I upgrade. Any advice? I know @Jay Hemdal has a write up on these guys that is posted frequently on questions for these, but I feel like some of the information there is out-dated. Would appreciate videos or anecdotes as well as advice. They're just too adorable!

I would try to contact @tobis_reef on Instagram. He has an amazing mixed lagoon tank and on one side with Mangroves he's got a successful group of Spotted Garden Eels that take up the residential area there, he'd for sure be a great source of knowledge
