Another Ick problem

hey guysssss

So My first out break started with a yellow
Tang who’s been in a QT tank with copper for about 10 days now and a few days ago I was at the local fish store and found a blue tang... guess what second tang with ick.

Questions are:
Can I put the blue tang in the same QT as the Yellow.

None of the other fish are showing symptoms of ick, should I leave them be?

I’ve read about hyposalinty, would dropping the salinity levels to say,.. 1.012 kill my coral?

How large is the QT? Depending on the size you should be able to put the hippo tang in with the yellow just watch out for aggression and have plenty of pvc pipes for them to hide in. Also keep in mind you will need to remove the copper and start over so the new fish can get used to it. What copper are you using? For the rest of your fish, yes they are all carriers now and will continue to infect any other fish they come into contact with. If you want to get rid of the ich then your best option is to remove all fish into QT for copper treatment while the tank goes fallow for 76 days. I do not recommend hyposalinity as it can be tricky to keep stable. It would not be possible to do it in the DT as you need to go down to 1.009 and no coral or invert would be able to survive that.

Hy thatnks! I was searching for the reply but it’s been moved!
The QT is 20 gallons. Just out of query for future, are you suggesting a 100%water change for before introducing the new fish?

I was at my local fish store he suggested fresh water dipping as a last resort? Any thoughts?

5-7 seconds as the ick does at 5??
