Sorry but I beg to differ about Velvet. I just a dozen fish to it. It is deadly no matter what you do.Yet neither ich nor velvet should ever be fish killers...we set up our tanks with inadequate flow and filteration and insist on treating the symptom rather than the cause.
Eliminate dead zones with little or no flow...particularly where fish bed down to sleep. Add micron filteration and turn your water hard for a few hours every day...keep filters clean and operating properly... then ich, velvet and many other parasites will not be a threat to your tank and livestock even if inadvertanly introduced.
