I have been struggling to get coraline algae to spread. I have just received the results from my ICP test. Apart from upping my dose of CA, and adding iodine/strontium I don't see anything that would help.

Boron, Bromine look a little high, I also have silicon which should be 0, how would I even lower these? Do these being elevated mean I should change salt mixtures? I am currently using Reef crystals. Or dose it mean I need to change my RO filter, I thought about sending in a sample of my RO water to see what is in it.

I would suggest you be patient - not do anything - except water changes if you're so inclined - nothing looks 'off' to me. (at least not off enough to cause an issue with Coraline algae. Now - is your light really strong?

Agree, those numbers aren't bad at all. Tin is a bit high.
Could use a bit more iodine but that won't have any effect on coralline algae.
Calcium should definitely be higher, and this could be a factor in limiting coralline algae growth.
Boron and bromine are fine.
Silicon is high but this isn't rare, usually from topoff water, and won't impede coralline algae.
Lithium is high but this also isn't rare, usually from salts, and shouldn't have any effect on anything.
Send your next ICPOES to ATI and they will include testing of your RODI water.

Tank has been up for years, prob 6-7+, ive been struggling with gha and maybe dino( yellow-tan color, on side of rocks facing light) originally i had a black box light, didnt like the shimmer so switched back to a 250mh. Thought it was to intense so switched back to 2x black boxes. I fig i would increase my ca dose, add some iodine, strontium, molybdenum(kent has it as a mixture) i havent changed my RO prefilters, DI or membrane-ever, seems like silicate can come from a bad DI cartridge. I have one of the electric tds meters, it says i have 5 on the output, id assume that should be 0

What is ur alk? Calcium is low, better around 420. Coraline is just like corals, its need available elements and stable water chemistry. Also I would definitely change all filters on RODI. I change my prefilters once a month but that's overkill. It's cheap insurance to know water is always pristine

I have been testing my alk, mg, on a monthly basis to tweak my 3 part doser so it should be in the ballpark, just watched a brs vid and when di resin is depleted it gives off silica

The calcium is 'low' - but it might depend on where your company is calibrating there results.. In Fiji (I dont believe it) it is ok. You probably need more calcium - and ignore the rest.... I wouldn't base anything in my tank on one test from any company

I replaced my rodi prefilters, membrane, di cartridge. Before replacement my tds meter said 5 ppm or ppb, after replacement it was 0. That should help, dont think ive ever changed them in the last 7-8 yrs.
