Another ID

I got a ricordia from my LFS a few months agoand it has always had a red spot on the rubble it came on. The ricordia has moved away and I noticed the red spot is no longer flat. It’s starting to branch out. Is it algae or something else?

Could be a red macro algae or a sponge. Hard to tell

Not sure what it is but it’s harmless, non invasive. I have it all over a Xmas tree colony rock, just grows in tiny patches. You’ll find it won’t get much bigger

Take a look at "red forams" - it may be that. No danger that I'm aware of.
