Absolutely beautiful tank. Well done! So much color, it kind of reminds me of an impressionist painting :)

Thanks... I love the tank under the kessil blues it looks great. I do love the lights and everything looks great and grows relatively quick. My encrusting montis grow well near the bottom but I know the 160s don't put out a ton of par so sometimes wonder if I could improve things with more light.

I think the thing to remember here is everybody's situation is different, which is why I gave very specific information about my house and specifically the room I have the tank in. It's also the reason I mentioned the whole room heats up if the doors are closed and leaving the doors open all the time is not an option. A fan runs in the room 24/7.

So again, because of the way the room heats up itself, the T5s themselves do add heat to my tank and indirectly the room the tank is in. This is a simple fact shown with data points. If somebody wants to dispute it or question if I know how to run T5s, then whatever. Facts are facts and everybody's situation is different.

Either way as mentioned, if you want to disagree, that's fine but there's no need for name calling or throwing things off topic by doing so.

you can always pull the lights foward a bit and angle them inward towards the tank to combat a bit of the over shadowing. If you got a 4th 160 you can also raise the lights a tad bit to give you a more even spread, which can help with the overshadowing.

I think you have to many corals in your tank and need to while all the frags to me :)
On a serious note tho when I added my 4 60” T5’s in a poorly vented canopy running 8 hours a day my tank temp raised 1 - 2 degree F. I added a 4” computer fan that runs the same time my T5 lights are on and problem solved. Tank now stays between 77.5 and 77.7 24/7 I live in the south, keep my home at 70 year round, and the tank is in our theater room that is 30’x40’.
