Hey guys! I have a 90 gallon reef.....not too many corals yet. Torch, bubble, and some leathers. I don’t really like too many SPS.
My tank came with 2 led fixtures (aquatic life xs UV 14” LEDs) I like the lights but unfortunately one of them stopped working and they are discontinued. I ordered some new pieces from the company to try to fix the one but no luck.
So I have half a tank lit, with the corals on that side.
I had my heart set on the Reefbreeders 48” photon v2, but it has been out of stock! Supposedly it was to be available in June, but still nothing. I’m also not crazy about spending almost $700.
I’ve come across a fixture on eBay that’s a MH/T5, led unit from odyssea. 48” for $375 including all bulbs.
Do you think it’s junk and I’ll be unhappy?Or should I keep waiting for Reefbreeders?
Definitely can’t spend more than the Reefbreeders led.
what would you do? Here’s a pic of the MH/T5

The leds on 5his fixture looks lik they are more for moonlights. The t5 plus mh should be more than enough light. It will however also put out alot of heat. I don't think you'd be unhappy with the light, but you may have a lot of heat to deal with.

Thanks! How often do you change the mh lights?

I have a viparspectra 300 on my 40 breeder. It works well and grows coral fine, but it has very few features and the spectrum leaves something to be desired. If I was in your shoes I would be looking for a pair of used hydra26/32.
