Another live rock question

So last night I finally made the move and ordered my tank and gear, should be here Thursday :). I took a ride yesterday to a few LFS and some not so local in search for live rock. I found a few within an hour ride or so. I guess my main question is. Does live rock avoid the ugly stages of the cycle process? I was informed that it will rapidly cycle a tank faster, and cleaner, and minus the dreaded ugly stage.
Thank you.
Fresh quality rock will create an almost instant cycle when coupled with a seeded algea scrubber. Your tank will reach stability and " maturity" much quicker.. You will have all kinds of shrimp and crabs . Serpent stars. Algea. Some people don't like all that but I do. There are a couple really good suppliers of gulf rocks.

@Duncan62 thank you. I'm going to keep an eye on delivery times for Thursday, then maybe order the live sand and rock from TBS, they seem to be pretty popular and backed by a solid reputation. I've done a search or two and they pop right up. I'll have to get in touch with my LFS for saltwater as well for my initial set up. Dam, I'm looking forward to this.

Try KPaquatics or LiveRock@Reef. Or Tampa Bay live rock. All are first class. Kp ships in water.

Ye

a from what I've gathered KP and TBS ship in water, I know Gulf Rock ship in soaked towels.
Since December I've bought 2 batches from 2 of the suppliers above. The one shipped in water had fewer animals die off but more coraline died. The one in paper still had some cool hitchhikers more died but almost all coraline stayed intact and alive. My first choice is always kp but you'll be happy either. The last from live rock and reef had 2 corals that survived. Go for it. You won't regret a real rock from the ocean compared to a crappy white rock.

Do you guys have a website yet?
It will be unveiled end of March.

Had dreams of creating a website ourselves, but just too busy farming...so hired a professional who has worked within some of the hobby's biggest names (BRS, CoralVue, Reef Octopus and more) to provide us a solid presence on the interwebs.

Until the website is rolling, orders are coming in via email, photos on Insta & Facebook.

Rock-On

I checked KP, I need to contact them shortly, they seem to be out of stock.
Thanks
Get on the list. It will sell out fast. LiveRock@Reef also has great rock. It's not as pourus like kp but if I don't have time to wait on kp I'll get it. I've never found an aptasia on kp but the rocks on the gulf side will have it. No big deal. Get peppermint shrimp. It's worth it.

Check out my build, it’s kinda about your question.

If you are making the investment for real live rock be sure to buy either ocean aquacultured stuff or OG pacific live rock from a VERY old and established system. Do not buy LFS live rock that’s nothing but wet “life rock” or dry collected rock.

And YES real live rock will greatly reduce the ugly stage and will also provide the foundation to an easy to maintain and healthy reef.

Also I really like keys rock compared to gulf, I’ve had both.
More pourus. No aptasis. More corals and macros on gulf. I just set one up with a mix of both. First kp then a week later gulf. No ammonia spike. Added corals with the second batch. Skipped the uglies and even the acros are thriving. Even a concrete block that's been in the ocean 20 years is better than that dry crap. Add ammonia add bacteria add coraline add more crap and let it brew for months. Then add some zoas. Lol go natural.

Definitely my plan Dun, all natural.
