I guess dosers on timers were not ment for me. Should have bought a all in one. First time I forgot to set a off time on one of the times and ran mag for at least 12 hours which wasn't that big of a deal. Second time I was low on alk so turned it on for a few minutes and ended up leaving 7 hours later I was out and about and it hit me that it was still running alk of 18 when I got home. Last night I upped my dosing time for vinegar I know for sure I made sure it was on auto but some how it was on. I came home saw my tank cloudy thought maybe I added to much of a bump in vinegar. Figured I would make sure anyways the doser was on all night the only reason it stopped was it emptied about a quart of it. Just did about 30 gallon water change hoping everything turns out okay. These dosers are gonna destroy my tank at dome point.

I feel your pain, one yr into my new 150 gallon setup my bubble magus all in one dosing system, had one of the pump heads pop off on it own... raised my ALK through the roof, one full gallon of BRS soda ash... water was milky white... almost gave up that day!

Man that sucks Phil! I was very tempted to buy one of the Jebao dozers at CMAC but I don't trust the technology to dose as much as I trust my current method - Amy doses daily and she is very reliable LOL.

The only thing I add is calcium, alkalinity and magnesium. And I don't dose everday. Is it something I should be adding everyday? When I check a week later my calcium only goes down like 20 so I dose weekly. Just saw you dose daily and didn't know if I was doing something wrong

I dose calcium and alkalinity daily to keep the levels as stable as possible. We actually dose twice daily.

Every tank is different. Depends on how much your tank consumes. If you have 50 corals, it's a big difference than if you have 5. Many guys dose several times a day, or even hourly.

Oh wow. I have about 25-30 but all small frag size. I feel like I haven't seen much growth but I think that's because I look at the tank every hour of every day and it's only been about 3 months with corals.

Dosers are very reliable. I've set one up and it worked great. You can program them to dose small amounts every hour for a period of 12 or up to 24 hrs. The one I've used was bubble magus. Personally, I never trusted the dosers from brs.

I've been using seachem two part and Aquavitro mag. I think I'm gonna switch to BRS supplements or use the home made from randy holmes-Farley.

We have always used seachem 2 part with no issues, but my philosophy is if ain't broke, don't fix it.

My aquarium isn't broke however my wallet...that's another story haha

I.am not.a big.coral guy but i do 30 to 40 ish water changes bi weekly

Personally I do not view my tank as work. Even water changes. I enjoy doing it knowing I am working on improving the tank. I get home from an 8-10 hour shift and get home at 11pm and sometimes spend till sun up working on the tank. Not sure what in the world I spend all that time doing besides tests, dosing, cleaning, and just observing.
