Hi all
Just added a Rainbow BTA 3 days ago. Frist day he stayed right where I place him, where I would like him to be. Once the lights went out, he moved about 4 inches over and was looking well.

By the next morning (yesterday) he found a deep hole in a cave, upside down. I could barely see him. As far as I could tell, all was good - open, tentacles moving in the little current that makes it in there.

This morning: gone. I spent an hour looking. Nowhere. Obviously somewhere.

I know this is normal, I read the hundreds of post just like this one but now that I am living it, its a different story. I feel this way after 1 day, what is going to happen to me when my kids leave home?

I hope he comes out over the next 2-3 days and finds a place where he can be seen and my 2 clowns can hopefully find him friendly.

oh the joys.

My kids just left home. I was ok but the wife lost her mind.

Not to worry, she finally got the fish tank she has been begging me to set up for her fishes that were in my reef tank.
It came used with 2 clown fish ("I want those") and so I instant cycled with some rock I've had in a bucket for 2 or 3 years and added a beachball sized nem last Saturday with her fish and the nem is splitting.

Hopefully none of the babies end up in the wavemakers. I'm waiting a few more days before I go looking to see how many pieces are split out on the rock. I watched one yesterday slide between two rocks, I don't know if it is in a cave or out on the back side?

Day 3: Still hiding but he moved to a place where I can just about make out his shape if I hold the flashlight just right.

At lest I know he is there :)

Once he comes out I will post a picture. If he comes out.

Day 4.

He came out - right into my mp10!!!! woke up this morning and the wet side was down. He was mangled in it. Took him out, he balled up partially so I put him back into the rockwork.

He is NOT doing well. Mouth open, 1/2 tentacles mangles or missing. His foot "looked" OK but it was hard to tell.

Its been about 30 minutes so far, he seems attached for now and what tentacles are not mangles are starting to expand and move.

Time will tell.

Let's hope for a better outcome for your kids when they leave home! (Sorry about the anemone)

I just put on the two foam covers that came with the mp10s.

A day late and a dollar short.

Are they ones that came with the mp10s sufficient or should I invest in these?

Thanks!!
-Chris
I ended up using an aftermarket cover, like the ones above. My mp10 foam covers for a fair amount of growth/detritus on them and maintaining them was annoying.

I agree with Chris. I ditched the foam covers as they plugged up to fast. The plastic one are nice because you can just pull them off to clean

I just purchased from BRS.

I am using the foam until they arrive. I can see how the foam is already gunked up from feeding and its been only a few hours

Thank you both!!
