I’ve been lurking you guys for a while and after getting no love from the other forum I’m a member of I decided to jump ship. Honestly, I should’ve joined reef2reef a long time ago after seeing the feedback and support you all have for one another.

My set up is a IM Fusion Peninsula 20 that’s been up since March. But I’m already wanting to upgrade to a larger set up (the addiction is real!). I I’ve got live sand and a few pieces of live rock. I have it stocked with two zoa plugs, one GSP (my favorite so far!), three ricordea and a Duncan. My tank-tenants are two clowns and a neon dotty-back. Tank is running the IM Purity Pack for filtration but I’m going to switch out with filter floss and Chemi-blue pure and see if get better water test results. Still debating on a whether I should get a slimmer or not (such little space to in the chambers!). I’m using a Current USA IC Loop for my light. I wanted something better for my light but I’m limited by my tank location.

I’m still learning and struggling with water parameters but I respect the process.

Anyway, I’m glad to be on board and hopefully I can be a productive member!

Welcome to the addiction and the forums! Your tank's looking good, I really like the dotty-back!

What parameters are you struggling with? High nitrates and/or phosphates? Salinity swings? A skimmer is probably not needed for such a small tank with light stocking as long as you don't feed too heavy and are consistent with your water changes.

Nitrate, phosphate and magnesium. I’ll be doing a water change tonight and had to replenish my clean up crew.

Should I be dosing my tank for the coral? Aside from the duncan the rest are softies. Also, I have very little coralline growing. Should I address that?

Welcome Aboard.

Curious why you dont like your light? I was the one I was figuring to buy for my 9g.

It seemed to be the best for the money buy for what I needed. I was digging the "hands off" timer features and my tank is only 14" wide, so seemed like it would be about right for size.

Any info would be great.
