I know my reef is still maturing being only a month-and-a-half old. But today I looked at my torch corals comma and one is completely gone and the other seems to be fading. Any idea what this is?

The second picture comma that torch has possibly a barnacle in the center of it.

If I had to guess I would say water chemistry issues. Do you have current numbers? What lighting type/fixture are you using?

Ammonia 0
Nitrite .5
Nitrate 10
pH 7.8
Salinity 1.026

Not sure what caused the Nitrite spike, only real change was adding a HOB fuge yesterday

Nitrite could and likely is an issue here.

However, with LPS such as euphylia, Calcium, Alkalinity, and Magnesium numbers should be tested as well.

I haven't tested the mag yet, did a 30% water change on Sunday though... alk and calcium are both a bit on the high side

Are you dosing any thing?

You need to let the tank age longer. Its very young. Needs more time to balance out. good luck.

Look for brown slime ...try to pick it up and smell it...if brown slime you need to cut the affectet heads of before it spreads

The bottom 2 heads had brown slime coming out the day after, its quick and they were all gone so i cut them of and the rest is doing great

Nice avatar! Glad you were able to save your torch. Mine do the same thing no matter where I place them.

Instability due to tank immaturity would be my thought, in general. I have to :p LOL :D because I love your user name, @Mr_Banana_Pants. It's pretty fantastic. Then I read further and @harryball69 chimed in and I nearly fell off the couch. I
love it! OK, silly me. Sorry. Good luck with the torch and the new tank. Happy reefing! :)
