I have been searching through the forum and have a few great options. Here's my thoughts hopefully get some feed back.

Fuge 17x17.5x11. so 14g. I have about 19 inches a over water level. I would like to grow cheato and or some edible algea for fish. I know some of the red algea needs high light where cheato needs less.
1) 300w ufo light. Will this be over kill? Downfall it's not dimmable so it's a go or bust and have to buy another.
2) 150w ufo. Same not dimmable but less wattage.
3) Viparspectra 600w or equivalent box grow light. Dimmable so I could tune it down to right spectrum but might have too much coverage and maybe light other chambers.

I have no experience with any of these options, but would think that 300 and 600 watts is overkill. Is the 150W a grow light with the proper spectrum for plant growth? I used an AI prime Fuge light for a bit and it grew macro like crazy. They are reasonably priced and have a good track record. Either way, I suggest getting a light meant to grow plants. It should have a pinkish light when on.

Yes they are all plant lights. I figured that 300 is overkill. I was think 150w or less. Just don't like that I cannot find the lights on most smaller lights. So it's either too strong to weak or works well. So I'll look around a little more

I've used this 100watt light with great success for a year now - https://amzn.to/2Vk6hcq

That's one of the lights I'm looking at. How big was your refugium? I just don't want to get too strong or weak of a light and have to buy a new one.
