I am running on an Aquaticlife 100GPD and it’s very slow. It used to take about 70 mins per bucket now it’s around 85 mins.

so I figured, maybe it’s mine membrane is old (only 11 months) I replaced other 3 few months ago.

now I just replaced a new one and flushing it and it’s still very slow!!!!!!

QUESTION: manufacture recommend that the membrane needs to flush for 30g before connect to the DI otherwise it won’t last very long. I flushed about 10g, and it’s 2TDS. Do you all just forget it the rest and put the DI back on for regular use? Thanks

Temperature this time of year may also be part of the issue. My RO is in the garage and production has slowed down significantly now that it is cooler.

membranes last a couple of years, think you are getting mixed up or were told wrong, you flush a new membrane for about an hour the first time you use it when new, it has a coating on it, flushing removes the coating, after that you flush before each use for a few minutes, maybe once every hour for a few minutes whilst using it and again for a few minutes at the end of each use, this should help your resin last longer, not doing the flushing should not make your membrane need replacing after only a few months.it does help it last longer though but doesn’t kill it in only a few months not doing it, It will help your resin last longer too.

The speed is mainly down to your water pressure, needs to be at least 70psi to get the full speed, if not you need a water booster pump.

Easy to work out what rate you are getting, time how long it takes to make 1 gallon, should be around 15 minutes.

I flush before and after but only a gallon maybe. What's your water pressure? That is biggest impact to production rate I've seen.
You flush they every time? Or just only a gallon when you replace the membrane? DI doesn’t need to flush but membrane according to aquaticlife, flush 30g. You got the same unit?

Really? Didn’t know that play a role. It’s about 35-40 here and my unit is sitting in a fish room at around 68. So I guess 15mins slower per bucket is pretty normal then?

When new...I flushed 20 gallons or so to start. Now I use the flush valve beginning and end of each water production for a gallon or five (depends if I forget it's flushing - we'll leave off the times I forget to shut flush valve the entire run). I rarely flush during anymore, maybe if I walk by. Current membrane 2 years old. Run 100 GPD system (my pressure is 75# now - usually runs at 80# plus but overdue on carbon block replacement).

Here’s the screenshot straight from them. So if my math is correct, it should take about 24mins per gallon since it’s a 100GPD correct?

At rated temp and pressure I would add.
This is the key. I have a 100gpd ro with an aquaticlife membrane and booster pump at the office that I use for my office nano. It is mounted above the industrial sink in our non climate controlled warehouse. It is about 55 here in AZ now and it takes about 90min to fill a 5 gallon bucket. In the summer when it is over 100 it takes 30min.
