Another RODI Thread

[Storm Trooper Reefer]

Equipment is always changing, as are prices, and the availability of filters, parts, etc. About 3 years ago I started with the Aquatic Life 4 stage (50gpd/ but really it's doing about 15 because it needs new filters) RODI. It has done well, but filters are not in my area (thank you amazon) and it's time again to replace the DI canister (this will be the 3rd one and 9th or so gaskets). If you have a smaller or nano, this is a good RODI, but Im going through 2-3 RODI for top daily and another 15 weekly for water changes, I've just outgrown it. As such, I am looking at buying a new system. The major retailers (not endorsing) have a few varieties, as do some of the reefers very popular on YouTube with an online store. What are some of the experiences in the community, especially you have upgraded in the year or so.

I have 2 BRS value+ systems, 1 with a booster pump and 1 without, cant recommend them enough! Standard 10" filters, not tied to just 1 manufacturer. Refillable DI canisters, so just buy DI instead of a cartridge.

Someone please correct t me if I am wrong but I believe you can just replace the membrane with a higher output membrane, as long as you install a correctly sized flow restrictor as well.
For the most part our rodi filters are just plastic housing to hold filters and almost all of them use standard filter sizes. So, why upgrade to a bigger rodi until when you just need new filters/membrane/restrictor. I guess if you wanted more stages you could upgrade, or just buy add on canisters and plumb then in separately.

EDIT: unless what you have is the RO Buddie thing in which case ignore everything I said and upgrade to a proper rodi unit.
