About a month ago I added a millepora with great polyp extension from the store and a day after it was in my tank the polyps were barely there along with some of my other acros.

-50g mixed reef
-Kessil AP700
-1 MP40 70% reef crest mode
-Nyos 120 skimmer
-Alk: steady 8.5
-Nitrate: ~15
-Phosphate: haven’t checked but recently ran GFO so guessing low.
-One heavy feeding/day with occasional dose of KZ coral vitalizer and Pohls xtra.
-Kalkwasser in ATO.

Is there a question about polyp extension mixed in there somewhere?

FLOW FLOW AND MORW FLOW!

90x turnover per hour! I’m talking hurricane man. Bounce the flow off glass don’t let anyone get hit directly! I’ve never seen extension like I have before I did this! Pic doesn’t do justice but everyone who looks at my tank, well they ask me how!

Too much flow could be an issue with little to no PE. Try messing around with that a bit to see if it helps.

Also different sps have different PE. Some have tons and some have hardly any. Pictures would def help.

Ive tried different modes on my MP40 without any difference.
Can’t get photos until tomorrow.

In my experience My SPS wasnt even worth trying to keep until I was 6-8 months in on my reef. Too many mini cycles stressing things. I lost two twigs getting excited the other easy corals were doing well.
+1
I didn’t try sps until my tank hit the 6 year mark... not saying it can’t be done but you don’t want anything fluctuating!

Your stuff doesn’t look that bad IMO

Was thinking could possibly be new tank syndrome but I know of people that started SPS after the cycle without issues.

I agree with the above 8-12 months is when your tank should be mature enough to have SPS. And as pointed out Milli love flow a ton of it.

What flow do you have on your tank?

I’ve got 2x hydor 3rd gen at 1900 gph and 2x random pumps at 1500gph each and a rio return 2100 and an eco drift fully ramped up! I’m biting the bullet on 2x mp40’s to eliminate clutter in the DT
My tanks a 75g
