I have a 90g SeaClear System 2, its a AIO so the tank space is more near a 75 gallon, 48"Lx18"Wx24"H. Its a mixed reef. Current stocking includes:
  • Magnificent Foxface
  • Firefish x2
  • Flame Angel
  • Blue Star Leopard Wrasse
I am looking for something to add movement and color to the tank along with a good personality. Some fish I am currently considering...
  • Osc Clowns or Maroon Clowns
  • Royal Gramma
  • Canary Blenny/Midas/Starry
  • Trio of Anthias (If I get an autofeeder)
  • More wrasses???
I am open to suggestions on other interesting fish and on the list that I gave. I am concerned about adding more wrasses as my Leopard loves eating pods and I dont want her to have less to eat (although she eats flake and frozen like a champ).

I would focus on flasher/fairy wrasses for movement & color. Royal gramma is nice but they tend to hide sometimes. Definitely go with ocellaris clowns over maroons - they are less aggressive.

So you don't think having other wrasses would be a problem then? What are your favorite fairy/flasher wrasses? I really like the Carpenter Flasher or McCrosser (sp?) Flasher but have not seen much of fairies. I have also considered a Tomini Tang but with how big my fox face can get I think that might now be wise and I should just wait untill I upgrade.

Wrasses generally mix & match fine, but @evolved @eatbreakfast can give you more specific info on which ones would go best with your Leopard.

Personally, I like the Red Head Solon Fairy Wrasse, Orange-Back Fairy Wrasse, Scott's Fairy Wrasse and the Yellow-Flanked Fairy Wrasse. And Lineatus Fairy Wrasse if you wanna splurge. ;)

If you get anthias get suggestions from the experts here as to which type would work best with your stocking plan. Some anthias are belligerent.

Great article. Be sure to look at this chart (level of aggressiveness etc.):

He explains how add one each of several different wrasses without the drawback of a harem. More color - more diversity in your tank. The article discusses mixing wrasse as Humblefish mentioned.
I have McCoskers and personally like the colors on the wrasses Humblefish suggested.

Thanks so much. This will be great reading. How many would you add before stocking is too heavy?

The recommendations so far are good. Most fairy wrasses ignore leopards and all flasher wrasses will be fine. Fairies and flashers also don't compete for pods. The only fairies I would avoid are adornatus, or filamentous fairies. A few, 3-5, different species will work well for your size tank.

I would also advise against maroon, due to their aggressive nature.

For Mathias, squammipinnis and Bartlett's are the hardiest, but can also be quite first. Dispars and Randall's are almost as hardy, but much more peaceful.

Thanks so much! I'm researching suggested wrasses now. Do you have any favorites?
I'll go with regular clowns for sure too. I really like Lyretail Anthias but might hold off as I don't have an auto feeder.

is lyretail anthias a junper like wrasse? I have similar sized tank, I have 3 YT damsels, yellow tang, tomini tang, flame angel and maroon clown. Looking to add 1-2 small fish that are not jumper and can get along with my existing stocks. I don't have cover on my tank and so far no one has jumped yet

Thanks

Any fish can jump
From what I've read anthias are "less" likely but they do like to dart so if they are close to the surface they end up carpet surfing.
You have some naturally aggressive fish in your tank
The maroon and the yellow tail damsels. Upon introduction they will more than likely chase the anthias and this could cause them to jump.

Anyone got more suggestions on fairy or flasher wrasses? What about the melanurus wrasse?

What about the melanurus wrasse?

Excellent fish (you can get a pair) for eating bristleworms, flatworms, pyramid snails and other pests. Only downside is they may also pick at your CUC snails. LFS I advise tells me a Yellow Coris eats the exact same pests, but in his experience is easier on the CUC.

For sure. My snails like to die anyways so adding something that will eat new ones as they hit the water wouldn't be the best. I love the color of the yellow Coris so I'll see if my LFS can get them

As stated already, any fish can jump, but anthias are not as likely to jump as wrasses.

Personal favorites of mine are, for flashers: attenuatus, flavianalis, and filamentosus,

For fairies: isoscoles, rhomboidalis, lineatus, rubrisquammis, rubriventralis, and exquisitus.

I picked up a Solar Fairy Wrasse! Loving it so far but it's a bit shy. Still looking for more recommendations as well.

More fairy and flasher wrasses. They will display to each other, and it will look awesome. Just use a social acclimation box for introducing new wrasses to established wrasses.

A flasher is definite next. I also really like the yellow Coris wrasse. Then I just need a clown to appease my little sisters when they come over and I should be pretty much stocked.
