Another torch problem.

Yes , I’ve had a green one that lost 3 heads to bailout .
OK sorry to hear that.

Something is off water wise.

I'd recheck all parameters and send off an icp test if possible.

Check for rusty screws in the cabinet area.

I’ll have to give all parameters here in the morning probably , I hope we can figure this out because I don’t wanna lose another one

Thanks for the help so far

Alrighty so this morning

Po4 - .04-.06

Nitrate is 25-35

I did a water change 1-2 weeks ago so I thought the nitrates were lower but I’m still running high like I always was.

These have been the same levels for many months . I actually used to have issues getting nitrates up, I was always about 1-5 and I was trying for more. Now I’ve got steady around 30 nitrates

Okay little sus

Alk was 121 on august 21

My checker says
Alk 98

Never been this low. But we’re these swings going unnoticed ?

Double Checked to verify and reading Alk 101

I used to dose Reef code A + B
Should I start again ?

12.1 DKH do you mean?
What is the scale of measurement?

alk is the one i test daily. Sometimes multiple times a day. This graph shows my testing. Went thru the Salifert test kit in 1 month. I think its time for me to invest in a trident. I am averaging 7.0. my target is 7.8-8.0dkh

Just dosed 10ml of part A + B and will see how it tests in a few hours.

Calculations are saying around 35 ml to get it up to 8-9 DLH

Currently been dosing 10mL per day. Noticing my tank needs 5-8mL to stay steady.

Dosed 5mL yesterday night and woke up and it was the same alk at the time of dosing.

Last night 119ppm Alk
This morning 120ppm Alk

Dosed 10mL to raise even more as I’m not at 8-9 dkh yet.

Will probably dose another 5mL tonight as 10mL seems to only raise it .3 - .5 dkh

So it’s been 7-7.5dkh for a day steady. Slowly getting it to 8

Everything is happy , Anenomes are even happier than before. But my torch is not happy still. If anything it’s worse.

It’s so weird because the torch above it is perfectly happy

Any ideas of what else could be causing an issue ? Tank has been going for 5-6 months now.

Ph 8.2
Salinity 1.025
Temp 78-79
Alk 7.-7.5
Nitrate 30
Po4 .4

Would it be best for me to lower the nitrates and start to run lower ?

I haven’t had a bad breakout of algae anywhere. It’s all seemed to be controlled at the levels I run.

Unfortunately, when things go bad, they may or may not recover. This damage could have happened months ago and just now showing it.
Is the alk now up to 8ish?

If you nitrates have always run high, imo, I would not try now to lower them. I would just keep things as stable as humanly possible in hopes of recovery.

Alk is around 7.5

I’m not sure what could be truly causing this. It’s happened to 2-3 of my torches now. It caused my green torch to bailout its polyps but the polyps were completely healthy .

Wouldn’t the torch be fully retracted if it was damaged or unhappy ?? The center polyps stretch out so far and you can’t tel it’s unhealthy during the day. But at night or morning you can see the retracted edges

Oh, i thought you said the others were okay.
