I've had these for about 2 years now and spread MAYBE 1 polyp every few months. I think they are a type of Hydroid but where they are they are not bothering anything nor have they ever.

Parazoanthus gracilis or yellow polyps

Mine sting and will kill SPS tissue. They're beautiful, but like all polyps become invasive!

They do add a nice green to the rock, but after 2+ years and not moving from their spot? Problem is they are right in front in the right corner, I'd hate to have a big glob of putty sitting there. I actually think one of my clowns is hosted there too lol.

I didnt read your post and I apologize. If they have been there that long, I would not worry too much. I had some like that too that a blenny I caught ate.

No worries. It just amazes me that they made it through the initial cycle, a crash and then my re-learning curve. I had a guess of either polyps or hydroids. But yea they've maybe spread in 2 1/2 - 3 years less then 2 inches.
