Another what is this thread??

I was cleaning on the tank and noticed all of these little white specks sticking to the walls of my sump and a few on my return pump. I removed one and it didn't move, at least that I could tell. Anyone have any ideas of what it could be?

Theyre taking over my sump too, some are getting pretty chunky.
