I have some photos of a gorgeous wanatabei that I came across, two females actually. Both in amazing condition and ate immediately and love everything I feed. I waited 3 days to start general cure. I dosed then performed a water change 2 days later and redosed and waited 4 days and did a water change and redosed, I'm dosing more per the instructions than the forums. About halfway in I noticed a little bump/blotch. It's gotten bigger, these are tonight's pics, she hadn't been giving me a good angle so I had to go in after her. I was very gentle and barely touched her.

I went through the ID thread, it's not ick, velvet or Brook. It doesn't look very bacterial although there is some mild pinkness. I don't think it's lymph, there is a brown sliver hanging. See how it's raised pretty far out. Round worm? Would it survive the treatment up to now? I am at a loss. Thanks

This was a picture taken about 3 days ago. Not a very good one

If it's bacterial then obviously Metro is not an appropriate treatment for this as it's only gotten worse during treatment. I quit using general cure and switch to Metroplex and prazipro because I'm short on gc. I have nfg, and acriflavine but Im out of everything else.

Commonly in angels we are finding uronema. I’d keep metroplex going use twice the dose on the packaging and do it for 10-14 days.

If it’s bacterial you can cover your bases by adding kanaplex and furan 2 for a wider spectrum.

Is this a common location for uronema? I've seen it before in my qt (I sanitized with vinegar and drying) it was further forward. I hope it's not so bad. I'll add Metroplex daily, assuming it will not be completely depleted in 24 hours it will keep the dose up? I'm on day 7 of 14.

Metroplex should be dosed every two days. Yes if can be in that location.

Okay, I have been dosing gc every 2 days, I'll continue with Metroplex in the same manner then. I forgot I have kanoplex. I'll add that as well

Yes seems to be a common location and that looks like the start of it. Once the sore starts it seems to create a type of eruption in the scales. I saw this in both wrasses I lost to it. Here’s a pic of when it started for me. The second pic was just before death.

@4FordFamily - I dont think I have seen this Uronema recommendation before. Is it 2x the dose in the water column, food or both? Is this going to be part of the new, highly anticipated QT protocol?

Water column 2x dose, and yes, also feed it.

Yes it will be, just had a CP failure dealing with deaths from that. CP works fine we didn’t know that the filter floss in the HOB filter cartridges remove CP. (Carbon was cut and removed). Anyway, yes it will be added. We are working on this but behind due to this emergency. We had to figure out what happened before proceeding.

Bad week for me but we are sure learning the hard lessons for everyone haha!

So a sponge filter placed on the back of the HOB bio wheel filter removes Chloroquine Phosphate? Even when it's dissolved? I thought only Carbon and Rock/substrate did that?

Sponge filter is fine, the poly fiber the carbon sits in removes phosphates. CP - Chloroquine Phosphate. Whoops!

The angel has quite alot of improvement in the sore. It's just a tiny gray bump at this point. Quite thrilled. It leads me to believe general cure was not potent enough. Or it's just coincidence.

Blemish is completely healed but I noticed the bi color angel flashing intensely. I suspect it is velvet, or possibly ich. Is bruise like features under the eyes commom?
I not suspecting anything else because i did 7 days of general cure then another 5 in regular prazi and extra strength metroplex.

The wantanabei do not have this bruising but started flashing and twitching as well after the fw dip. I dipped all in fw and dosed to 1ppm chelated copper for now.

Will do a fw dip and acriflavine bath tonight.

It took more than two weeks for symptoms to show. That's dangerous.

The bi color died today. I did fw on all the fish many times and didnt see anything fall off any time plus I did general cure and prazi consecutively for 14 days and Metroplex as well. I just read a thread with a video of fish Gill flashing like my angels are and the thread was unanimous for flukes. I've given several freshwater dips now and their symptoms have only gotten worse. If the timeline plays like it did for the bicolor they'll be dead by Friday.
I started dosing coppersafe yesterday. I did 10 mL which should be 2/5 the amount I need and I did an API copper test and the color read almost 2ppm, I'm guessing the API test is completely wrong because I would guess symptoms would be improving at therapeutic range. I ordered the color meter but it won't be here till Friday. I am going to do @Humblefish fw dip and acriflavine bath here in a bit. I haven't had a fish come from a vendor that was healthy in 6+months. I'm starting to become disinterested in this whole thing. Why spend $100+ on a fish to spend $30 in meds because it's infected with every disease in the book. Or worse spend $30 on meds on a $15 fish haha.

That’s the only way the distribution system will get cleaned up is when enough people say enough is enough and stop buying.
