Ok I posted a couple days ago Duncans that were being sold and we ended up thinking their was a bit of Photoshop done even though it was a replicable company. Here is the pic posted and what was received. Drs Fosters and Smith. You make the call but I think they are as sweet as posted.

I am a little erked about the half of head that was hidden in the pic and called two head for a high price. Am I being Anal or would you guys be a little bent? Realize I paid $140 for two heads.

My question is will this heal into a complete round head? Not sure if that is the way Duncans work for it looks like it is healed up as a half.

i agree that the half a head thing is a bit shady, but there are two seperate heads

Anyone have experience with Duncan healing? I am going to direct feed it as much as possible but not sure if the head will reform or do they just heal as half a head?

The half head will be just fine. I will look good as new in a month or so.

I have been rather rough w/ one of my colonies and it bounces back every time.

Nice looking Dunc's.

Thanks Stoney. I may hit you up for info in the future on these since it's my first if you do not mind. As long as it will heal I wont complain to Drs Fosters and Smith. They have credited me loss of corals without pictures or a send back so they have earned my praise.

Those are nice......You sure it didn't get damaged in shipping? I have always found DR.F&S to be reliable with their discriptions. I would still e-mail them about though and send a picture along with the e-mail, not to try and get something off them but just to bring it to their attention.

I checked it over and no torn or ruffed edges so I would say it did not happen during shipping. I might let them know but since I am happy with how nice it is and like I said they have done good by me before I will probably just let it go. I would still do business with them no prob.

I have a multiple head one that from time to time will close up for days on end ... no real reason as it is not due to changes in pH or temp or s.g. etc ... it just does it and then after anywhere from a few hours to a few days it will re-open, maybe one head or a few, but eventually all get back to normal. It is a temperamental coral but a very hardy one ... and in most cases will kick back even from a change in water quality .. give it enough flow and feed it from time to time a Mysis shrimp in every head or so, although many say that such is not needed, IME it does help them grow more new heads and of course keep your Calcium level high enough. FWIW

I think all you need is patience ... it will do all right but sometimes it does take its time ...

I have been keeping a colony for about a year now, from 1 head to about 18 heads. It looks very similar to yours. Yours is a bit brighter though, least that what your photos show. I wouldn't worry these have been one of my most hardy corals, they dont mind lighting changes or temp changes. They are good with basically whatever, even higher flow, they look more cool IMO under moderate to low flow tho. Just my opinion...nice buy!

That is super .. 1 to 18 that is what I call "growth" ... nice to read it.

Yea dont worry about it.. those grow sooo darn fast you will not even care about the half head in a month or so..

I wanna see more pics though.

Wow a 5 year old thread. Cool to see how prices have changed. Two heads for $50? Ill sell you my colony of 30+ for $100 :)
