I got this anthelia frag about four months ago. It started out tiny but it's grown like a weed on the little Rock I attached it to. It looked fine yesterday. Last evening I noticed a small frond floating around, which I thought nothing of it (except maybe that if it attached to one of my larger rocks it might start growing where I don't want it). The big clump still looked good. But when I woke up this morning, I found that the entire thing had crashed.

I've attached before and after pics.

My perameters haven't changed one bit. I test regularly for everything. Nothing else in the tank has been affected. I have a mixed tank with SPS, LPS and softies, it's about 15 months old.

The only thing that I've noticed lately that has changed is that my Starry Blenny has taken to sitting in it. Oh, and I was dosing trace elements and iodine until about a week ago when I started to notice a touch of cyano here and there.

Any thoughts?

Did you add GFO? I wonder if you stripped to many nutrients out of the water unknowingly

Did you change GFO or anything that could have stripped out a lot of nutrients to quickly?

I am running both gfo and carbon, but the GFO is probably a month old at this point. I did change the carbon about two weeks ago. I only run the reactor part time. But again, that's nothing out of the ordinary for this tank. Should I shut the reactor off and see what happens?
