Anthelia problems

I know I'm not exactly in the right sub forum here, but I'm having some troubles with the anthelia I have.. I threw in a small frag of the stuff into my tank as one of my first corals... I've since come to regret the decision as it's spread significantly and when I try to remove it from my LR, there are always pieces that float away and form new colonies... what's the best way to get rid of it w/o trashing my LR?

I have killed pulsing xenia by injecting it with vinegar. I used a syringe with small gage needle. It would then melt in a day or so.
Just be sure not to use too much at one time, it is a carbon source and could cause a bacterial bloom

I'll just add to this... if you do need a needle I know a lot of places won't sell one to you unless you have a prescription. You can pick one up at Walmarts pharmacy for about 25 cents

There's a fairly decent amount of anthelia (more than pictured) and my tank is stocked semi heavily... vinegar is not something I want in my tank

Ok, well many people use it as a carbon source, like they dose the tank with vinegar (or vodka or a commercial preparation like nopox) to help bring nitrates down... xenia was taking over in my last tank, and vinegar helped keep it in check.

also search drug supply dot com. I picked up the smallest guage, 25 count for $5. Wonder what my neighbors thought when it was delivered hahahaha

I have read somewhere that the pymid butterfly resolved a xenia problem in someone's tank, if removing your rock isn't a solution.

Frag then glue other corals over them. I glued live rock rubble on any xenia I didn't want.
